"July’s gorgeous colors and finishes were inspired by surf, sand, sunsets and the breathtaking natural beauty of the coastline."
To save on some cash, I've been skipping some sub boxes, and Julep has been one of them. But I couldn't help myself for their July box!Julep's July Maven box is all about California/Beach lifestyle and the colors are, of course, on trend as well as their products. Lately Sea Salt texture sprays and Dry oils have been popping up left and right. I have somewhat wavy hair and have been looking for a good sea salt spray. I haven't tried a lot, but I did try the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and wasn't very impressed (back to Sephora it went). So I was a little skeptical when I saw this one from Julep.
The Sea Salt Texture Spray was featured as an add-on or as one of the main products in the Modern Beauty box. I'm usually a "Boho Glam" girl, but my nail polish collection has gotten rather large and I want to get through what I have before I purchase anymore lol. So I switched from my Boho Glam profile to the Modern Beauty. And for those who aren't familiar, Modern Beauty boxes receive two full-size beauty products and no polish.

My thoughts:
I love this stuff. It doesn't smell weird and I like the way it leaves my hair. It's not crunchy and it does add some serious volume! I love it! It does leave a semi-matte finish. I've applied it to dry hair and got lots of volume and piecy texture. When I added it to wet hair, it added to my natural wavy texture and added volume.

My thoughts:
Since Julep recommends this be applied after I shower, that's exactly what I did. And at first I didn't care for it. I spritzed it on, rubbed it in, and even though I have dry skin, I didn't think it "instantly absorbed". I thought it left a dry kind of feeling on my arms, like when you apply that dry suntan oil. And since my legs are usually super dry, I applied coconut body butter on top of this, but I only did this to my legs. The ending result: My skin was soft for over 24 hours! I don't know about you, but this is rare for me, I'm the girl that has to constantly apply lotion throughout the day (a perk of living in the desert I guess haha). And my legs - even softer! So at first glance, not super impressed, but the longer it stayed on my skin, the better it got. Also, this didn't break me out. I thought there might be a chance of that but so far so good.
!!UPDATE!!
Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil + Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter = AMAZING!!!
Seriously though. My skin is super soft with the body oil and the body butter layered on top.
OMG! In. Love!
I'm super happy with both of these products and pleasantly surprised with the dry oil. :) The overall value of my Maven box is about $45 (regular price).
