Influenster Violet Voxbox

So back in October, I received an email from Influenster inviting me to participate in their next voxbox, which happened to be the Violet Voxbox. It was shipped out in December and I received it sometime in the middle of December.

What Is Influenster?
Influenster is a free -to-join community of invited trendsetters who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster creates links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products.

So after you've become a member, you can participate in tasks which gives you points and you can "unlock badges". There are badges for different categories (beauty, travel, health, pets, moms, etc.), and those badges can make you eligible for participating in Influenster programs (like voxboxes!). To learn more about the site and all of the perks (and so I don't bore you with details ;)), click here. If you're interested in joining, I have some invitations open so just comment below with your email address, or send me a message if you don't want your email posted for all to see. ;) Now onto the Violet Voxbox!

Some of the voxboxes that were sent out had different items, but for the most part, I think everyone got the same things, with the exception of colors and mask types. But one of the items that I did not receive was the Goody Quickstyle hair brush.
Goody Athletique Headband ($6.00)
Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spa Mask ($2.49)

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Nail Color ($4.99)
Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo ($5.99)
SoyJoy Bar in Cranberry ($0.99)

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spa Mask ($2.49):
I believe there are 3 different masks that got sent out but I received the Pulped Pomegranate Red Earth Clay Spa mask with "real clay, pomegranate, and cinnamon".  I'm not 100% sure, but I think this mask is supposed to be a deep cleansing mask... Prior to this, I hadn't heard of Montagne Jeunesse, but they're cruelty-free and organic, and apparently reasonably priced ;).

On of the things I really liked about this mask, is that it's a cloth mask! I really dislike the paper facial masks that come in pouches similar to this one because they never fit my face properly. But these are made from bamboo fabric and are soaked in their clay mixture, so its easy to fit it on your face and kind of press it in to mold it to your face. Although, since my mask was pomegranate and cinnamon, it was kind of flesh colored, so if you want an idea of how that looks on, just Google "Leatherface". Or at least that's how it looked on me! LOL But really.. :P It also had a spicy smell and I'm not sure if that's what caused my eyes to get irritated after about 10 minutes, or if I got something in my eye...I don't know. But the smell is a bit strong, and if you're sensitive to smells, you're not going to like this mask. Also, the packaging is fine for containing the mask, but one thing I didn't like was the lack of purpose (deep cleansing, purifying, hydrating, etc.). Mine just says "Unbelieveable Deep Cleanse"and from their website, that's what it says about all of their masks. Other than that, I love the cloth mask and I'll probably give them another go, but I think I'll try a different "flavor". :)

Goody Athletique Headband ($6.00):
I got the adjustable quick dry/wicking headband and I'm so excited that I did because I can use it when I go to hot yoga. There's a Velcro strap that allows you to adjust the size, but I like the thick band because it really holds down my hair and doesn't move.

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Nail Color ($4.99):
There are 29 shades and I got the color Vanity Flare. It claims to have a protective crushed pearl gloss that delivers high shine as well as defense from daily activities and water. I've only used it once since I got it and I do think it's really glossy without a topcoat but I'm not sure about the defense against daily activities and water. But formula wise, I think it's a decent formula and I think its a great alternative if you're in a hurry and don't have time to wait for it to dry and add a topcoat and wait for that to dry. The brush is interesting, it picks up a lot of polish, so if you're not careful it can add too much and create those little air bubbles.

Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo ($5.99):
This was the first time I've ever tried anything from Not Your Mother's. I've hear a ton of people raving about it, but I just never really looked for it, so I was excited to try this. My hair can get oily quickly. I can usually go a day and a half without washing it before it looks super grungy (not cute!) so I've been looking at other dry shampoos but haven't really found one that I've loved. But when I got this...this is probably my favorite out of all the ones I've tried. It smells good, it doesn't leave a white residue, and most importantly for me, it doesn't make my hair feel like I've rubbed my head in a pile of dirt! You know that gross gritty feeling? Yeah, this didn't do that! And It leaves a semi-matte finish, which is another thing I liked. So I will definitely be getting some more of this stuff.

SoyJoy Bar in Cranberry ($0.99):
This is another product that I've seen and heard about but never really tried it. I got the Cranberry flavor but they have a ton of other flavors as well. I think its a good snack to have in your purse or workout bag for a post workout snack. I'm not sure if I'll be purchasing any of these. I think they're a little pricey for what you get and I think there are better alternatives, but that's just me. :)

Overall I enjoyed my voxbox and trying out all the goodies. I can't wait to see what other voxboxes come out! Now I just need to finish up some tasks so I can hopefully raise my Influenster score ;) hehe.
